Mobile laboratories

Our mobile laboratory containers are used in a variety of different research scenarios.

Whether in atmospheric research, in the chemical industry, in environmental protection or in biomedical research – our laboratory containers offer you the perfect space for your work, whether on land or on ships, whether in the rainforest or in the eternal ice.

Many international research institutes and universities rely on the expertise of CHS Spezialcontainer.

Advantages of laboratory containers

Each laboratory container is individually adapted to the specific requirements of your research and analyses. This provides you with an optimal working environment so that you can concentrate on your research. The laboratories can be flexibly equipped and are ready for use shortly after unloading at the research site. The container is developed together with the scientists and specially designed for the research campaigns. We try to create the conditions for optimal global research results in the home environment.

Comprehensive equipment

Air conditioning and ventilation, energy supply, adequate workstations and storage facilities for laboratory equipment are essential in most laboratory containers. High-quality lasers, radar systems and other equipment are often also installed. Defined interfaces, consideration of the often adverse environmental conditions and the individual requirements of the scientists form the basis for equipping our containers.

Climate research

The Amazon Tall Tower Observatory (ATTO) is located in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil with the tallest structure in South America, the ATTO Tower, and laboratory containers from CHS Spezialcontainer. Measurements are carried out here at various heights in order to understand the influence of the atmosphere on the global climate. A total of four laboratory containers and a roof were supplied.

Hydrogen peroxide storage container

The 20' hydrogen peroxide container is designed for the safe storage and transportation of hydrogen peroxide, which is used as rocket fuel. It is lined with V4A. A gas-tight partition wall forms the storage and technical room. The technical room contains an air conditioning system, electrical sub-distribution and emergency shower. Filling quantities are determined by weighing units and digitally displayed and monitored.

Ship laboratory

The 20' upper deck container is used on research vessels in the North and Baltic Seas as a laboratory for monitoring marine pollution caused by organic pollutants. It has a technical room with special air conditioning and ventilation as well as a laboratory room with laboratory furniture, washbasin and explosion-proof refrigerator. There are also two transfer stations for gases, two ship's windows and a ship's door. Fresh water and seawater pipes can be connected.

20' Laboratory container Alfred Wegener Institute

The container is designed as a two-room container and the interior of the container is divided by a partition wall with a door. The so-called laser room (LAS) of the container is equipped with a roof hatch. The scientific measuring system is mounted on a lifting device below the roof hatch. Supporting systems (here: control technology, data recording, air compressor, UPS, etc.) are installed in the second interior space, the control room (CON).
