Our history
1978 – Foundation of the CHS Container Group
CHS Container Handel und Service GmbH is founded, coinciding with the growing importance of sea freight containers in international logistics.
One year after the company was founded, Werner Pöser joined us as a commercial employee. As an authorized signatory in 1986 and Managing Director from 1995, he and the Feldhausen family were instrumental in the expansion and development of the CHS Container Group. Under his leadership, our company expanded continuously and established itself in important port cities such as Hamburg, Rotterdam and Shanghai.
1980s – Pioneer in the container trade
Back in the early 1980s, we were one of the first companies in Europe to develop a comprehensive range of services over and above the pure trade in sea containers. From repairs and customized storage solutions to worldwide rental – CHS sets new standards in the container industry at an early stage.
2004 – Foundation of CHS Spezialcontainer – Shelter and Engineering GmbH
With the founding of CHS Spezialcontainer, we have expanded our portfolio to include customized container solutions. Under the responsible management of Stefan Kanowski, we offer individual solutions for special requirements. This expansion has strengthened our position as an innovative provider and enables us to respond even more specifically to the special needs of our customers.
Expansion and globalization
Through the continuous expansion of our services and global presence, we have developed into a globally active company. With locations in global trading centers such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Dubai and Sao Paulo, we offer innovative and flexible container solutions for international maritime transport and container ship trade. Today, our solutions are in demand in the most important port cities worldwide.

Under the leadership of Frank Pöser and Christian Leopold, with Werner Pöser and Carsten Leopold as managing consultants, we offer innovative and flexible container solutions for worldwide use – and continue to be a pioneer in the industry.
